Amulets vs Soul Stealing (Palladium Fantasy):

Many individuals are concerned about having their souls stolen even though rune weapons are extremely rare and rune weapons that can steal souls are even rarer. It is a serious concern due to the fact that a person does not have their soul stolen can be often raised from the dead. Most of those who are not interested from being raised from the dead want their souls to at least go to their final destination. Chief among the people concerned about soul stealing are adventurers, wizards, and nobility. Because of this, there is a large market for magic items to protect from soul stealing. Alchemists have come up with two different types of amulets to protect against soul stealing. Of course these amulets are expensive and Alchemists do not share how they make them. This amulets are very rare but are less rare than soul stealing rune weapons. Some scholars believe that Alchemists had to discover some of the secrets to rune weapons but the alchemists are not telling.

Amulet of Soul Masking:
What this magic item does is to effectively hide the soul of the person wearing the amulet. When the person who wears this amulet gets by a soul drinking weapon, the weapon usually cannot find the soul. It does not completely protect the soul but instead gives a +8 to save vs soul drinking (in addition to other bonuses)
Cost: 80,000 Gold

Soul Shield Amulet:
This amulet works by wholly different principles than the first amulet. What this amulet uses is the souls of animals and when the being wearing the amulet gets hit by a soul drinker, the soul of one of the animals is released into the rune weapon. The amulet is covered in magical runes and is designed to store either four or eight souls. The amulet is not rechargeable and once all of the souls are gone, it is useless. Many people consider this type of amulet very evil. While most individuals in the Palladium World do not see a problem with eating animals for food, many consider the capture and destruction of them to be very different. These types of amulets are mostly used by those with Anarchist and Evil alignments. Not all Aberrants will use these amulets and an occasional unprincipled or good individual will use these amulets depending on how they judge animal's souls
Cost: 120,000 Gold for Four soul amulet and 200,000 Gold for Eight soul amulet (subtract 20,000 Gold for each soul used in amulet)
